🚫 U.S. Shipping Update
As a first-time customer, you might not know that we paused U.S. shipping for the past month due to unpredictable and often very high import fees. Over the weekend, we briefly reopened orders to the U.S., but today we learned something that sent us back to the drawing board.
Duties and fees (tariffs) on delivery can sometimes be double or even triple the order amount! If you, the recipient, can’t or don't want to pay, the duties and fees plus return shipping, fall back on us. As a small business, that’s a risk we can't take.
We have explored apps to integrate with our store that would automatically charge duties and fees at checkout, but all of them were cost-prohibitive, likely designed for much larger operations—so unfortunately, they weren’t a viable solution for us.
We love and appreciate our U.S. customers, and we really want to support your builds, so we’re actively working on solutions. When shipping finally resumes to the U.S., we'll have a special welcome-back discount ready and waiting for you!
We’re also working to get Kit Masx into U.S. hobby stores. If you have a favorite shop you’d like to see our products in, let us know—we’ll reach out!
📦 Canadian & International Shipping During the Canada Post Strike
If you’re in Canada, you’ve probably heard about the Canada Post strike. Here’s what you need to know:
-
Orders placed between Sep 11–25 (Canada) may still be en route with Canada Post and could be held until the strike ends.
-
Need your order sooner? You can choose to reship via UPS for $20 CAD (yes, it's ridiculously expensive, but that's our cost) – you pay the shipping fee, and we’ll cover the cost of your order. When your original order arrives, it’s yours to keep - you can use the extra masks as practice masks or on duplicate kits!
-
International orders placed between Sep 11–25 that haven’t arrived yet: unfortunately, all we can do is wait until the strike is over, as there are currently no affordable shipping options available.
❗ Note for Canadian and international orders: If the strike drags on, we will explore other options, such as bulk shipping from Vancouver in November as shipping options are generally better from a major center.
Thanks for your patience as we navigate these delays. We’re keeping a close eye on things and will resume normal shipping as soon as possible.
💲 Price Refresh: Same Premium Quality, Slight Adjustments
It’s been three years since we last adjusted our prices. We’ve held off as long as we could, but rising material costs made a small update necessary:
-
Most sets increased by $1–2.
-
Some detailed marking and master mask sets went up by $5 or more.
-
A few prices were even lowered where it made sense.
Our promise remains the same: fair, reasonable pricing for premium-quality masks.
🌟 Kit Masx All-Stars
This month, our spotlight shines on two epic builds made with Kit Masx.
Brett Prusso from Hammerhead Model Making
Brett recently completed an amazing build of The Franz Stigler and Charlie Brown Incident: the Bf 109G-6 “Yellow 2” & B-17F “Ye Olde Pub.”
The detail, skill, and scratchbuilding techniques are truly jaw-dropping. He’s posted it on Instagram, with a video coming soon to YouTube. 👉 Bf 109G-6 “Yellow 2" 👉 B-17F “Ye Olde Pub”
Want to create your own version of this legendary scene? We’ve got a mask set for that!

Stephan Faessler from Vortex Heaven Scale Modeling
Stephan tackled the 1/72 Hasegawa G8N1 Renzan—a notoriously difficult kit with some really tricky plastic parts. The finished build is truly award-worthy, and he used our mask sets on the canopies to get those perfect details. Be sure to check out his build video on YouTube!
Want to recreate this masterpiece yourself? Grab the mask set and get started!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read our updates! We’re incredibly grateful for your support, whether you’re building at home, following our Kit Masx All-Stars, or planning to see us at the Vancouver IPMS show.
