The July Kit Masx Update: Your Voice, Your Stash, Your Chance to Win!

Hey there, modelers!
This month’s update is all about you. We’re looking for feedback, stash counts, show ideas, and—yes—reviews, reviews, reviews! Whether you’ve been with us from the start or just found us last week, we’d love to hear what you think (and we’ve got a few fun ways for you to join in).

There’s also a quick expo recap, a big thank-you to some community heroes, and a few pics we think you’ll love. Plus... did someone say $50 shopping spree? 👀 Let’s get into it!

Join the Kit Masx Builders Hub on Facebook!

We’ve just launched a brand new Facebook group for our growing community of modelers:
The Kit Masx Builders Hub is officially open!

This is your space to:

  • ✂️ Show off your builds and WIPs (especially those masked masterpieces!)

  • Ask questions about our products, application tips, or anything modeling-related

  • 🔎 Be the first to know about new releases as soon as they hit the store

  • 🎥 Watch helpful tutorials and masking demos

  • 🤝 Connect with fellow modelers who get just as excited about crisp paint lines as you do!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, this group is all about sharing, learning, and enjoying the hobby together—with a little Kit Masx flavor, of course.

➡️ Join us here: Kit Masx Builders Hub ⬅️

We can’t wait to see what you’re building!

Kit Masx at the Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo!

A huge shoutout to Dave Clark, who represented Kit Masx at the Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago with an incredible custom-built display—seriously, it was so good we’re totally copying it for the Vancouver show. 🙌

Even better? Dave was set up right next to our longtime friend Brett Prusso from Hammerhead Model Making, and both of them featured Kit Masx products at their tables. How cool is that!

We’re beyond grateful to be part of a modeling community that shows up and supports each other like this. Big thanks to Dave and Brett for making Kit Masx look so good!

🎁 Supporting the Hobby: A Prize Bundle for Germany!

We just shipped off an awesome Kit Masx prize bundle to David Klaas of the YouTube channel My Plastic Projects in support of his recent German Army Group Build—and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of it!

The prize package included:

  • 🎟️ Four $50 Kit Masx shopping spree coupon cards for each of the build category winners

  • ✂️ Custom canopy mask sets to pair with the three main kit prizes:

    • 1/48 Revell CH-53 GS-G, Kit #03856

    • 1/72 Revell Eurofighter Typhoon, Kit #03818

    • 1/72 Revell Arado AR 240, Kit #03798

We love supporting events like these and are always happy to contribute when we can. If you’re hosting (or know of) a hobby event—online or in person—that would benefit from a Kit Masx prize or raffle item, let us know!

It’s all about connection, camaraderie, and community in the modeling world—and every little bit of exposure helps us grow, so more builders can discover and enjoy our products.

✈️ Help Us Build the Ultimate Kit Masx Show Table

We’re already deep in prep mode for the IPMS Vancouver show happening on October 11, and we can’t wait! This year, we’ll be taking things up a notch with two tables—one of which will feature our version of Dave Clark’s brilliant canopy mask display (we’ll do our best to live up to it, Dave!).

We’re also bringing a demo plane showcasing some of our marking mask sets, and—fingers crossed—live demonstrations! (Still working on convincing Kevin... 😅)

But here’s where you come in:
What would you love to see from Kit Masx at a model show?

Even if you can’t make it to Vancouver, we’d love your input! Think about:

  • 🛍️ Would you like to see a show-exclusive product or discount?

  • ✂️ Would you enjoy interactive demos where you get to try applying masks yourself?

  • 🎨 How about live airbrushing tutorials, or a chance to ask Kevin design-related questions?

  • 🧠 Would mini workshops or tips for getting perfect paint lines interest you?

  • 📦 Or maybe a “Build Your Own Bundle” station to pick masks on the spot?

Your feedback helps us create a show experience that’s actually exciting for you—not just a table full of stuff. So hit reply, send us a DM, or post your suggestion in Kit Masx Builders Hubwe’re all ears!

Check out our table at Heritagecon in Ontario, Canada earlier this year. 👇  What can we improve to make our table a fun and inviting place to hang out?

🎁 Thank You, Martin! (And Let’s Talk Kit Stashes…)

We recently sent a little care package to our friend and fellow modeler Martin Chartrand in Ontario—three kits to say thank you for his incredibly generous time and effort.

Martin has given us so much—from creating our beautiful Kit Masx Product Catalog to filming a phenomenal canopy mask tutorial that’s already helping customers feel more confident with our sets. While the kits don’t come close to compensating for the value of his time and energy, we hope they show just how grateful we are. 🙏

These latest additions bring Martin’s kit stash to a grand total of... six kits. That’s it. Six. The man has superhuman self-restraint. 😆

📸 Check out this cute pic of Martin with his new haul!

Be honest—how many kits are really in your stash? Vote now in our poll!

After seeing Martin’s legendary self-restraint, we couldn’t help but wonder… how many kits are in your stash? 😄

We’ve launched a fun little survey in our new Facebook group – Kit Masx Builders Hub, and we want you to join in!

👉 Head to the group and vote in the pinned poll at the top of the page to share your stash size.

🎁 Every person who participates will be entered into a draw to win a $50 Kit Masx shopping spree—with free shipping!

Whether you’ve got 3 kits or 3000 (Kevin's jealous), we want to hear from you.

Let’s see where you land on the spectrum—from “casual collector” to “I may have a small warehouse.” 🤭

We’ll announce the average stash size and winner in our August newsletter!

📬 Canada Post Shipping Update

We’re happy to report that we’ve returned to using Canada Post for all orders, worldwide—and so far, everything’s been running smoothly!

There’s still no official update regarding the pending vote or potential strike action, but our local post office seems confident that a service disruption is unlikely. While updates from both CUPW (the union) and Canada Post have been... let’s say, limited… we’re encouraged by the fact that orders are moving without delays.

So for now: no news is good news! We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation, but we’re back to shipping with confidence. 👍
