The End of the $800 Duty-Free Rule

Effective August 29, 2025, the longstanding U.S. "de minimis" allowance—which allowed imported goods valued at $800 or less to enter the country duty- and tax-free - will be eliminated for all countries.

Previously, the U.S. had permitted these low‑value imports to bypass duties and formal customs processing to reduce administrative burdens. Now, all shipments—even those below $800—will be subject to full customs clearance, with applicable duties, taxes, fees, and potential flat‑rate charges ranging from $80 to $200, depending on origin and shipping method.

U.S. Shipments Paused Temporarily

We've decided to pause shipments to the United States for the time being. The upcoming removal of the de minimis allowance means that every order—no matter how small—will now face customs clearance, duties, and fees.

For our customers, this could lead to unexpected charges, frustrating delivery delays, or even refused packages.

For us, as a small business, it creates the risk of covering return shipping and refunds on orders we’ve already fulfilled—something that simply isn’t sustainable long-term.

To protect both you and our business, we feel it’s best to temporarily pause shipping until we can find a reliable, affordable solution.

Wholesale & Retail Options Coming Soon

We’re monitoring developments closely and exploring all options to reinstate U.S. shipping rapidly.

At the same time, we’re hammering out the final details of our wholesale plan so you can get your hands on Kit Masx products from your local hobby shop as soon as possible.

In the coming weeks, we'll reach out to U.S.-based brick-and-mortar hobby stores and online retailers to bring our masks closer to home—making it easier for you to get what you need without paying extra tariffs or fees directly. We’ll keep you posted as things move forward.

To ensure your order clears the Canada/U.S. border before the de minimis exemption is removed and full charges come into effect on Aug 29, please place your order by 3 PM Pacific Time on Monday, August 25.

On Monday at 3:01 pm PST, we will temporarily suspend U.S. shipping until conditions allow us to resume in a way that’s both fair to you and financially viable for us.
