Main Marking Masks for the 100th Bomb Group "Alice from Dallas"

This set includes painting masks for the main markings of a 100th Bomb Group Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress with the "Alice from Dallas" nose art. These masks are as accurate as possible with the limited amount of reference photos available (two).

The set consists of masks to replicate national insignia for wings & fuselage, squadron codes & letters, serial numbers, and nose art. Three different designs for the tail markings are supplied. Each has subtle differences derived from old images.

We have provided three sizes of the "LNO" markings to choose from. Because images of the actual plane are almost non-existent, it's difficult to gauge the correct size.

Transfer tape is also included.

"Alice from Dallas" was a B-17F from the 100th Bomb Group. She was shot down during a raid over Regensburg on Aug 17, 1943. Sadly, two crew members were KIA.

Included in the set (identified by reference #):

  • 1/2/3: Tail Marking Masks (3 options)
  • 4: Wing National Insignia Masks
  • 5/6/7: Masks for Fuselage Codes (8.5 mm)
  • 8/9/10: Masks for Fuselage Codes (12 mm)
  • 11/12/13: Masks for Fuselage Codes (14 mm)
  • 14: Tail Code Masks
  • 15: Fuselage National Insignia Masks
  • 16: Nose Art Masks
  • 17: Fuselage Serial Number Masks

PLEASE NOTE: The "from" in "Alice from Dallas" will need to be carefully painted by hand as the detail is too fine to cut at this scale. Because of their delicacy and size, the "Alice from Dallas" masks can only be supplied in vinyl.

MATERIAL

This paint mask set is available in your choice of easy-to-apply Oramask 810 flexible vinyl or a hybrid of genuine Tamiya tape and vinyl.

A hybrid set is necessary due to the delicacy and size of some components that do not cut optimally in Tamiya tape. Please refer to the product image for clarity on what components are provided in Tamiya tape and vinyl in this hybrid set. The area highlighted in grey is provided in Oramask 810 Flexible vinyl. All other masks are supplied in Genuine Tamiya tape.
