Product Details: Everything You Need to Know

This set includes paint masks to replicate markings for the B-17G "Shoo Shoo Baby" including squadron code, tail and wing bomb group marking, wing and fuselage insignia, and serial number. Use these marking masks on any 1/48 B-17G.

Note: The “Shoo Shoo Baby” nose art and small airframe markings are not included in this set and will be required from the decal sheet, as they do not cut optimally in both vinyl and Tamiya tape. See product image for masks included.

👉 Coverage: one plane.

The Backstory

The B-17G “Shoo Shoo Baby” (42-32076) served with the 91st Bomb Group of the U.S. 8th Air Force in 1944, flying 24 combat missions before being badly damaged by flak and forced to land in neutral Sweden. The crew was eventually returned, while the aircraft was repaired and used by Sweden for the rest of the war before later returning to the United States. Today, it survives as a restored aircraft, and the markings shown here represent its restored wartime-style 91st Bomb Group appearance, which may differ slightly from its exact original combat configuration.

Application Tips and Additional Information

➡️ Spare practice masks included! Check out our Paint Mask Tutorials page for a step-by-step guide on how to use and apply our masks.

➡️ We include transfer tape with your set! Transfer tape helps accurately transfer and position masks onto the model's surface, maintaining alignment and design integrity while protecting the mask adhesive. Look for two 3"x6" pieces of transfer tape included with your masks. Learn how to Apply Main Markings Using Transfer Tape

🌟 Choose Your Material 🌟

This paint mask set is available in your choice of easy-to-apply Oramask 810 flexible vinyl or genuine Tamiya tape.

What's better - vinyl or Tamiya tape? Both work great! Choose vinyl if you plan to use your masks right away and Tamiya tape if you're tackling your project later on. Check out our FAQ for more info!
