Choose your scale: 1/48 or 1/72

This set includes paint masks in 1/48 or 1/72 scale to replicate the codes, serial numbers, and insignia found on F/O R.H. Hillary’s Spitfire Mk.Ia. These markings can be used on any 1/48 or 1/72 Mk.Ia Spitfire - just make sure you order the right set!

Included in each set:

• 1: Fin Flash Masks (+1 spare)
• 2: Under Wing “Type D” Roundel Masks (+2 spares)
• 3: Airframe Serial Number Masks (+2 spares)
• 4: Fuselage Sides “Type A1" Roundel Masks (+ 2 spares)
• 5: Upper Wing “Type B” Roundel Masks (+1 spare)
• 6/7: Fuselage Code Masks (+1 spare ea)

Application Tips and Additional Information

➡️ Spare practice masks are provided for fin flashes, insignias, tail, and nose markings.

➡️ Transfer tape is provided for easy and precise application. You'll get perfect alignment and it helps with adherence to the model's surface.

➡️ Due to their size, some small airframe stencils are not provided as they do not cut optimally in both vinyl and Tamiya tape (see product image for clarification on what masks are provided).

Choose Your Material

This paint mask set is available in your choice of easy-to-apply Oramask 810 flexible vinyl or a hybrid of genuine Tamiya tape and vinyl.

A hybrid set is necessary due to the delicacy and size of some components that do not cut optimally in Tamiya tape. Please refer to the product image for clarity on what components are provided in Tamiya tape and vinyl in this hybrid set. (The area highlighted in grey is provided in Oramask 810 Flexible vinyl. All other masks are supplied in Genuine Tamiya tape.)

What's better - vinyl or Tamiya tape?  Both work great! Choose vinyl if you plan to use your masks right away and Tamiya tape if you're tackling your project later on. Check out our FAQs for more info!
