ℹ️ The Backstory
Hawker Hurricane Mk.I P2961 “LE-A” was the personal aircraft of Canadian fighter ace Flying Officer William “Willie” McKnight of No. 242 Squadron RAF. McKnight flew P2961 extensively from the summer of 1940 through the Battle of Britain, and the aircraft became instantly recognizable for its distinctive Grim Reaper artwork beneath the cockpit. On January 12, 1941, McKnight took off in P2961 on a low-level combat sortie over the French coast and never returned. He was just 22 years old, leaving behind an extraordinary combat record and one of the most memorable Hurricanes of the Second World War.

Application Tips and Additional Information
✅ This set is designed with multi-layered masks to achieve accurate multi-color markings. While this approach uses more material, it simplifies alignment and makes the application process more straightforward and hassle-free. For a step-by-step guide on how to apply our multi-layered masks, check out our Multi-Color Mask Application Guide.
✅ Spare practice masks included! Check out our Paint Mask Tutorials page for a step-by-step guide on how to use and apply our masks.
✅ We include transfer tape with your set! Transfer tape helps accurately transfer and position masks onto the model's surface, maintaining alignment and design integrity while protecting the mask adhesive. Look for two 3"x6" pieces of transfer tape included with your masks. Learn how to Apply Main Markings Using Transfer Tape
➡️ Some small stencil data and other tiny markings will need to be used from your kit’s decal sheet, as these details are too small to cut cleanly in either Tamiya tape or vinyl. Please refer to the product image for a clear breakdown of what’s included in this mask set.
🌟 Choose Your Material 🌟
This paint mask set is available in your choice of easy-to-apply Oramask 810 flexible vinyl or genuine Tamiya tape.
What's better - vinyl or Tamiya tape? Both work great! Choose vinyl if you plan to use your masks right away and Tamiya tape if you're tackling your project later on. Check out our FAQ for more info!
